Not all outdoor LED Displays are created equal. With so many options and features available, choosing the most appropriate one can be challenging. Some LED Display manufactures highlight quality levels while others focus on providing the best priced outdoor LED display.
Which one would you want to go for?
Lowest Price LED Displays?
Manufacturers that market them selves by price only are typically the companies to stay away from. These types of companies come and go quickly. Manufacturers that have the cheapest products typically cut a lot of corners when it comes to the type of internal component they use for the LED display. This leads to low quality cheap products. To cover up the low quality companies use fancy marketing terms to describe and sell their products.
Typically a LED display manufacturer with the cheapest prices offers:
- Lower levels of brightness –only 5,000-6,000 NITS
- Hard to use messaging software – lack of support & cumbersome
- Long leads times on parts & support
- Lack of Quality Certifications- not UL Listed, cUL Listed or CE Listed
- Bad Warranty – minimal 2 year parts warranty
- Pixel Sharing or Virtual Resolution – software that claims to sharpen led display images but long term will create many problems with the image clarity and life of the LED modules.
What is a high quality LED display?
By being honest and upfront about your products your business will always grow and customers will trust your quality.
When searching for a quality LED display and manufacturer always check to see if their led displays are:
Temperature & Climate Tested – units rated for minus -22 degree to 122 degree temperature means the manufacturer is using truly industrial grade internal components. This equals to years of reliable performance in even the harshest of environments.
Passes Strict Tests – before the LED displays ship they should be tested for and pass the following test: Signal Integrity, Cold Start, Radiated Emissions, Thermal, Impact, Flame, Rain, Immunity, and Surge Protection tests.
Support Materials & Free Training – library of prerecorded software training videos and free live software training.
Manufacturing Quality –manufacturing companies that are ISO 9001 : 2008 Certified is a great sign of a company solid company. This type of certification is the equivalent to quality.
Los Angeles gets the first Giant LED Screens.
Giant LED Screens on the two residential towers on the corner of Figueroa and 12th: this is the new attraction in LA.
This marks the introduction of the LED display “spectacular” market in the city, with the screens covering an eight-storey parking garage. What’s even more unusual is the convex and concave design of the screens, which has been created to mirror the building’s architecture.
In total, the bespoke LED displays cover 18,000 sq ft and boast more than 17 million pixels. When the screens went live, they showcased a Nike advert featuring Serena Williams.
However, the aim is to do more than simply provide a new advertising platform. The designers want the screens to “create visual excitement and energise downtown LA’s South Park District”.
SNA Displays is the company behind the installation, and its director of systems Stewart Ives explained that the screens will showcase content 20 hours a day.
He described the displays as “high profile” adding that “they just have to work”, and because of their location will be seen by thousands of people each day.
It’s hoped that plenty of people will see and engage with the content being shared on these giant screens, as they’re located opposite the L.A. Live and Staples Center. This neighbourhood attracts around six million visitors each year.
This is far from the only place where curved screens are being utilised. One casino in the Philippines recently introduced a curved, double-sided LED screen to an area known as the Solaire Stadium.
Set within the Solaire Resort and Casino, it’s at the heart of a new electronic betting facility where players can see the results of three games being played pop up on this big screen.
